The successful application of new technologies plays an important supporting role in the high-quality development of the domestic shale gas industry.

The Fuling shale gas field has entered the stage of large-scale commercial development since 2013, with a cumulative proven reserves of nearly 700 billion cubic meters and over 700 gas wells in operation. Among them, some gas wells have gone through multiple stages of stable production, intermittent opening, and pressurized intermittent opening under the influence of early fracturing technology, and have entered a low production period.

On December 9, 2022, China's first reconstructed wellbore re fracturing gas well, Jiaoye 5-1HF, using fully autonomous technology and tool materials, successfully obtained 142000 cubic meters of high-yield industrial gas flow per day, and the test production recovered to 75.1% of the initial fracturing, reaching the international advanced level. This provides a reference for the development, storage and production increase of shale gas fields in old areas in China.

In July of this year, Jianghan Petroleum Engineering Company's underground testing company successfully completed the construction of the second well, Jiaoye 21-3HF, which underwent wellbore re fracturing construction. It obtained a high-yield industrial gas flow of 112800 cubic meters per day, further promoting the localization process and large-scale application of key technologies for wellbore re fracturing reconstruction.

"There are also methods to improve the recovery rate of shale gas wells, such as well network encryption and drainage gas production technology." Dou Ruijie introduced that well network encryption refers to drilling a new horizontal well around the old shale gas well, but the cost of drilling a new well is much higher than that of repeated fracturing of the old well. The drainage gas production process mainly includes mechanical drainage and production, foam drainage gas production, gas injection and lifting for old wells. This process is effective for wells with sufficient formation pressure, but it is difficult to play a role in wells with severe depletion. Therefore, refracturing technology is the most economical and effective means for old wells to resume production.

At present, the domestic technology and tools for reconstructing wellbore repeated fracturing have been basically mature, and the Fuling Gas Field has also completed the promotion of low production well repeated fracturing technology and the evaluation of the effect in complex structural areas. Next, Jianghan Petroleum Engineering Company will conduct on-site tests in high accumulation mining areas, and it is expected to carry out large-scale application of reconstruction wellbore repeated fracturing technology in Fuling Block in 2024. In addition, shale gas blocks such as Sinopec Wulong and PetroChina Changning have also been in operation for over 5 years, and this technology also has a large market in these blocks.
